Deyang, also known as "Jingcheng", is a prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province. It is located in the northeast of Chengdu Plain and the transition zone from Longmen Mountains to Sichuan Basin. The northwest is mountainous vertical climate, and the southeast is subtropical humid monsoon climate. With a total area of 5,911 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 2 districts, 1 county and 3 county-level cities. The permanent population in 2021 was 3.459 million.

Deyang City is adjacent to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. It is one of the seven regional central cities cultivated and expanded in Sichuan Province. It is an important node city of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and Chengdu metropolitan circle. The city is located at the intersection of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and strives to build the northern new city of "Chengdu International metropolis". With well-developed transportation, Deyang City is 50 kilometers away from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and 24 kilometers away from Qingbaijiang, the largest railway container center in Asia. Deyang is a major technology and equipment manufacturing base in China, which is built because of the "three-line construction" national layout of modern large industry. Deyang City is the second batch of national emergency industry demonstration base, has been included in the "black and smelly water elimination ratio of less than 80% of the list of cities", and has been included in the planning scope of Bashu cultural tourism corridor. In January 2020, the construction of provincial-level innovative cities will be launched. On April 27, The State Council of the People's Republic of China agreed to set up a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce in Deyang City. In 2022, the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee confirmed Deyang as a national health city.

In 2021, the GDP of Deyang City was 265.656 billion yuan, an increase of 8.7% compared with the previous year according to comparable prices.
