Arong Banner, located at the eastern foot of the Greater Khingan Mountains, belongs to Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with longitude of 122°2 '-- 124°5' east and latitude of 47°56 '-- 49°19' north. It faces Zhalantun City across the river in the west, Zagdun Mountain Range and Molidawadaur Autonomous Banner in the east, Oroqen Banner in the north, Yakeshi City in the northwest, and Gannan County of Heilongjiang Province in the south by Jinjiehao. The total area of the banner is 13,600 square kilometers. In 2019, Ah Rong Qi had jurisdiction over eight administrative towns, four ethnic minority townships, 148 administrative villages, seven local forest farms and two state farms. County: Nachitun farm, Gurney farm. The Arun River flows through the territory. According to the seventh census data, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Ah Rong Qi was 257,815.

In 2017, it was awarded the honorary title of "National Garden County Town". On April 18, 2019, the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region decided to remove Ah Rong Banner from the poverty-stricken banner county list. In July 2020, the National Health Care Committee confirmed Ah Rong Qi as the National Health County in 2019.

In 2020, the GDP of the whole region reached 9.482 billion yuan.
