Badu County

Badu County, under the jurisdiction of Qamdo City of Tibet Autonomous Region, is located in the east of Tibet Autonomous Region, southeast of Qamdo City, located in the upper reaches of the Nujiang River, the seat of Baima Town is 3,260 meters above sea level. It borders Zuogong and Chayya counties to the east, Zayu County to the south, Luolong County and Bomi County of Nyingchi City to the west, and Karuo District and Zuowuqi County of Qamdo City to the north. Badu County to plateau temperate semi-arid monsoon climate. Abundant sunshine, dry season, rainy season. Badu County covers an area of 12,564.28 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Badu County was 43,538.

Bajuku means "village at the foot of Warrior Mountain" in Tibetan. Basu, Basu, Banshu, Tsawa Baju, Rensuzong and other names were used in the past. During the period of Tubo regime, Bayu was under the jurisdiction of "Sumba Ru". In the Yuan Dynasty, Bayu was under the jurisdiction of the "Comforter's Office". Ming Dynasty, belongs to "Duoganwei command Department" jurisdiction area. In the third year of Yongzheng (1725), the Qing Dynasty was assigned to Tibet, and it was under the administration of Gongdlin Monastery in Lhasa. At the end of Qing Dynasty, it was incorporated into Enda County. After the early years of the Republic of China, the Eight night Zong was changed. On October 19, 1950, Qamdo was liberated, and Bayu was declared liberated. It was under the direct jurisdiction of the Qamdo People's Liberation Committee. In 1951, the Bajuzong Liberation Committee was established. In June 1959, the Bajuzong People's Liberation Committee was abolished and the People's Government of Baku County was established with the resident in the same county. As of October 2021, Badu County has jurisdiction over 4 towns and 10 townships.

In 2019, the GDP of Badu County reached 1.073 billion yuan, up by 10.1% year on year. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents reached 31,688 yuan and 11,294 yuan, up by 10.8% and 13.6% year on year respectively.
On December 9, 2019, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region approved the withdrawal of Badu County from the poverty-stricken county (district).
