Changning County, subordinate to Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, is located in the western part of Yunnan Province. It was set up in 1933 by Yongchang County and Fengqing County of Shunning County, Baoshan City. Changning County is adjacent to Fengqing County in the east, Longyang District and Shidian County in the west, Yongde County across the river in the south, Yongping County, Yangbi Yi Autonomous County and Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County in the north.
