Cuomei County is under the jurisdiction of Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is located in the southwest of Shannan City, the south of Tibet Autonomous Region and the northern foot of the Himalayas. It is located between 90°56 '~ 92°00' east longitude and 28°11 '~ 28°57' north latitude. The county borders Longzi County in the east, Longkazi County in the west, Luozha County and Chunna County in the south, and Qiongjie County and Naidong District in the north. The county has jurisdiction over 2 townships and 2 towns, 300 kilometers away from Lhasa City, 130 kilometers away from Shannan City. The total area is 4549.04 square kilometers. Gudui Township of Cuomei County is the native land of Tibetan mastiff. Gudui Township is known as the "Home of Tibetan Mastiff".
"Zaza Clothing" in Cuomei County was named the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage by The State Council. On February 6, 2019, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region decided to remove Cuomei County from poverty.
