Dabu County, subordinate to Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northeast of Guangdong Province, adjacent to Pinghe County and Yongding District of Fujian Province in the northeast, connecting Raoping County of Chaozhou City in the southeast, Meixian District and Meijiang District of Meizhou City in the west, and Fengshun County in the south, with an area of 2467 square kilometers. Dabu County was established in the ninth year of the reign of Yixi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (413). It was Xingmei District in 1949, Meixian District in 1965, Meixian District in 1983 and Meizhou City in 1988. Dabu County has Meijiang River, Tingjiang River and Hanjiang River flowing through the county, and there are Meida Expressway and Meikan Railway. Dabu County, known as the "hometown of culture, overseas Chinese, the world's longevity, ceramics, famous tea, Chinese poetry, Chinese blue and white porcelain, and Chinese honey pomelo", is recognized as the Central Soviet District County. Dabu County has been rated as "China's Green Ecological Pomelo Demonstration County", "National Key Tea Production County in 2011 and 2014", and "China's Top Ten Demonstration Counties for Transformation and Upgrading of Tea Industry". Xiyan oolong tea and Dabu honey pomelo in Dabu County are recognized as national geographical indication protection products. The Hakka dialect is widely used in Dabu County. The Hakka style is rich, known as "Hakka Shangri-La", and included in the national Hakka culture (Meizhou) ecological protection experimental area by the Ministry of Culture.
