Daguan County, subordinate to Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, is located in the northeast of Yunnan Province, the heart of Zhaotong region. It is located between 103 degrees 43 '- 104 degrees 07' east longitude and 27 degrees 36 '- 28 degrees 15' north latitude. Daguan County is located in the heart of Zhaotong, and has always been the main transportation route between Yunnan and Sichuan. It is the site of the uprising of Li (Yonghe) and Lan (Chaoding) peasant movements. The territory has overlapping mountains, "five rivers" running through, and abundant water power, mineral resources and local products. Fresh bamboo shoots and Cuihua tea are local specialties. They are rich in high-quality flue-cured tobacco. Eucommia is popular throughout the country and is one of the lacquer base counties in Yunnan Province. The area is 1721 square kilometers. According to the data of the seventh census, the permanent population of Daguan County was 209116 as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020.

On December 6, 2019, it was selected as the pilot unit to promote the quality of national farmers' cooperatives in the whole county. On May 17, 2020, Daguan County met the conditions for the exit of poverty-stricken counties and was approved to exit from poverty-stricken counties.

In 2020, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Daguan County reached 419.023 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9% at comparable prices, ranking fourth in the city. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 1053.27 million yuan, up 5.9% year on year, the added value of the secondary industry was 830.46 million yuan, up 7.9% year on year, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 2306.5 million yuan, up 3.2% year on year. The contribution rate to economic growth is 28.6%, 35.8% and 35.6%. The first industry drives economic growth by 1.4 percentage points, the second industry drives economic growth by 1.8 percentage points, and the third industry drives economic growth by 1.7 percentage points. The tertiary industrial structure is 25.1:19.8:55.1. The added value of non-public economy in the whole year was 172090000 yuan, up 3.9% year on year, accounting for 41.1% of the county's GDP. In August 2021, it was selected as the national key county for rural revitalization.
