Debao County belongs to Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is located in the southwest of Guangxi, between 106°09 '-- 106°59' east longitude and 23°01 '-- 23°39' north latitude. It belongs to the South Asian tropical region. Debao County is 129 kilometers away from Baise city, 275 kilometers away from the capital city of Nanning. The county covers an area of 2,575 square kilometers. According to the seventh census data, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Debao County is 269,758 people.

Debao County has built an industrial base based on aluminum industry. From 2005 to 2006, it entered the "Top Ten Counties of Guangxi Economic Development" for two consecutive years. In 2008, it was awarded the "County of Guangxi Scientific Development and Progress", in 2009, it was awarded the most attractive city for investment in Western China, and in 2010, it was awarded the title of "Top Ten Ecological Leisure Cultural Tourism Counties of China". In October 2017, it was named the National Garden County by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce.
In March 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of counties under protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. In November 2019, it was selected into the second batch of water-saving social construction standard counties (districts). On May 9, 2020, it was approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Autonomous Region to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county list.
