Dongdao Autonomous County, under the jurisdiction of Huaihua City, Hunan Province. Located in the southernmost part of Huaihua City, Hunan, Guangxi and Guizhou provinces (regions) junction, is the main road to southwest China. It is located in the transition zone from the eastern margin of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to Nanling Mountains, and the remaining veins of Xuefeng Mountain extend to the southwest. It belongs to the Yangtze River and the Pearl River. It is adjacent to Suining County and Chengbu Miao Autonomous County in Hunan Province in the east, Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County in the north, Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County and Longsheng Autonomous County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south, and Liping County in Guizhou Province in the west. The total area of the county is 2239 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Tongdao Dong Autonomous County was 201,047. The territory is 58 kilometers wide from east to west and 68 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 2239 square kilometers, accounting for 1.4% of the total area of the province. There are 14 brother ethnic groups, mainly Dong, Han, Miao and Yao, among which Dong accounts for 78.3% of the total population.
