Gamba County is located in the eastern part of Xigaze City in Tibet and the northern foot of the middle Himalayas. It is located between 88°08'20" -- 88°56'47" east longitude and 27°56'32" -- 28°45'27" north latitude. It is adjacent to Sakya, Yadong, Bailang and Dingjie counties, and borders Sikkim Snow Mountain in the south. East from Shigaze city 307 km, Lhasa 580 km. With a total area of 3938.48 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 1 town and 4 townships. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Gamba County was 11,276.
