Guanghe County, a county under the jurisdiction of Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of central Gansu Province and the southeast of Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture. It is located in the hilly and gully region of the Loess Plateau, with a temperate and semi-arid climate. It is adjacent to four counties, with a total area of 538 square kilometers. By October 2022, Guanghe County has jurisdiction over 6 towns, 2 townships and 1 ethnic township. As of July 2022, the total population of Guanghe County is 301600.

Guanghe County is called Guangtong County because it has Guangtong River in its territory, and renamed Guanghe County because it shares the same name with Guangtong County in Yunnan Province. In the Western Han Dynasty, Daxia County was separated from Rahan County; In the eighth year of the Republic of China (1919), Ningding County was established; In 1953, Guangtong Hui Autonomous Region was established; In 1955, it was changed into Guangtong Hui Autonomous County; In 1956, it was renamed Guangtong County; In 1957, it was changed to Guanghe County; In 1958, Guanghe County was abolished; In 1961, Guanghe County was restored, and it has continued to this day. The main scenic spots of Guanghe County include the Qijia Culture Museum of Guanghe County, the "New Matthew" scenic spot, and Guangtong Lake Park. On July 10, 2020, Guanghe County was selected as the "2020 list of comprehensive demonstration counties for e-commerce in rural areas". On April 21, 2022, Guanghe County was selected into the "list of counties (cities, districts, and banners) recognized through the national supervision and evaluation of balanced development of compulsory education in 2021".
