Hejing County is subordinate to Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang. Located in the middle of Xinjiang, in the northwest of Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, with beautiful mountains and rivers, overlapping peaks and pleasant climate, it is a populous county of Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. It was established in 1939 and changed to Hejing County in August of the same year. In 1965, under the care of Premier Zhou Enlai, it was changed to Hejing County. The administrative area is 34978 square kilometers. By the end of 2019, the registered residence population of Hejing County was 184959.

Hejing has a long history and culture. Ancient humans lived and multiplied from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period 3000 years ago. In 1771, the Mongolian Turkut tribe completed the last great national migration in human history - returning to the motherland from the Volga River basin in Russia to settle and settle down, and the culture of returning to the east has been inherited and developed by the Mongolian people from generation to generation. Hejing County is also an important place for the spread of the Mongolian epic "Jianger". Folk arts such as Mongolian long tune, embroidery, bone carving are widely spread among the people.

Hejing has outstanding geographical advantages. Located in the heart of Xinjiang, it is adjacent to 15 counties and cities in Urumqi, Changji, Ili, Aksu, Turpan and other regions. It is the largest number of counties and cities in the world bordering on the surrounding areas (setting the record of Shanghai Great World Guinness). It is the main traffic route connecting the north and south of Xinjiang. The regional traffic conditions are excellent. The South Xinjiang Railway runs across the north and south. On January 2, 2020, the State Council agreed to put some areas of Hejing County under the jurisdiction of Tiemenguan.

In 2019, the gross domestic product of Hejing County was 9321.95 million yuan, the added value of the primary industry was 2141.13 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 390.474 million yuan, the general public budget revenue was 748.31 million yuan, and the general public budget expenditure was 2640.42 million yuan.
