Honghu City, a county - level city in Hubei Province, is administered by Jingzhou City. It is located in the central and southern part of Hubei Province, the southeast end of Jianghan Plain, named after the largest lake in the territory -- Honghu. It spans 113°07 '~114°05' east longitude, 29°39 '~30°12' north latitude, faces the Yangtze River in the southeast, and faces Jiayu County, Chibi City and Linxiang City of Hunan Province across the river.
