Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County, belonging to Hechi City of Guangxi, is located at the southeast foot of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in northwest Guangxi, bordering Rongshui Miao Autonomous County of Liuzhou City and Luochengmulam Ethnic Autonomous County of Hechi City in the east, Yizhou District and Jinchengjiang District in the south, facing Nandan County in the west and Libo and Congjiang County in Guizhou in the north. It is about 331 kilometers away from Nanning, capital of Guangxi, 340 kilometers away from Guilin, 48 kilometers away from Jincheng River and 67 kilometers away from Yizhou. On May 9, 2020, it was approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Autonomous Region to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county list.
