It is named Jiangcheng because it is surrounded by Li Xianjiang, Manao River and Mengye River. Jiangcheng County is located in the south of Yunnan Province, bordering Vietnam and Laos, with a border line of 183 kilometers. It is the only county in Yunnan Province bordering Laos and Vietnam. The east-west horizontal distance is 112 kilometers, the north-south vertical distance is 64 kilometers, and the county covers an area of 3544.38 square kilometers.
