Jianghua Yao Autonomous County, under the Yongzhou City of Hunan Province, is located in the southernmost part of Hunan Province, the southern mountains at the north foot. It borders Lanshan County in the northeast, Lianzhou City, Liannan Yao Autonomous County and Lianshan Zhuang Yao Autonomous County in Guangdong Province in the southeast, Hezhou City, Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County and Zhongshan County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the southwest, Jiangyong County in the west, and Dao County and Ningyuan County in the north, with a total area of 3,248 square kilometers. In 2021, it has a total population of 537,800 and a permanent population of 451,400. There are 24 ethnic groups. As of October 2021, Jianghua Yao Autonomous County has jurisdiction over 9 towns and 7 townships. The county government is stationed at 60 Chunxiao Road.

Jianghua County, because of the county administration in the south of Yang Huayan (Tuojiang Town old County village), named. Han, set Feng county. In 1995, Lingling area was abolished and Yongzhou City was set up at the prefecture level, under which Jianghua belonged. In April 2019, the People's Government of Hunan Province approved Jianghua Yao Autonomous County to be removed from the poverty-stricken county list. It is the only Yao autonomous county in Hunan Province and the county with the largest population among the 12 Yao autonomous counties in China. It is known as the "Yao Capital of China".

In 2021, the GDP of Jianghua Yao Autonomous County was 14.609 billion yuan, an increase of 6.5 percent over the previous year. The value added of the primary industry was 3.145 billion yuan, and that of the secondary industry was 5.134 billion yuan. The value added of the tertiary industry was 6.329 billion yuan, up by 6.4%.
