Junger (Mongolian meaning "left, left hand") flag, formerly known as Ordos Left Front Banner, is located in the southwest of Inner Mongolia, the east of Ordos City. It is surrounded by the Yellow River on the east and north sides, facing Shanxi Province, Hohhot City and Baotou City. South of the ancient Great Wall and Shaanxi Province border; It borders on Dalat Banner, Dongsheng District and Ejin Horo Banner in the west; Known as the "three provinces" said. In 2014, it was named the 10th of the top 100 counties in China, and it is the economic banner of Ordos City. The whole banner covers an area of 7,692 square kilometers [38], and has jurisdiction over 9 towns and 1 sumu. There are 159 Gacha villages and 23 communities, inhabited by 14 ethnic groups such as Mongolian, Han, Hui, Manchu and Tibetan. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Junge Banner was 359,184.
In November 2015, it was listed in the second batch of national comprehensive pilot areas for new urbanization. In October 2017, it was named the National Garden County by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
In 2017, Junge Banner was selected as the fifth National Civilized City. In December 2017, it was selected as one of China's top 100 Industrial counties. In October 2018, it was selected as one of the top 100 counties and cities for quality of new urbanization in China. In November 2018, it was selected into the 2018 National "Happy 100 Counties List" and China's Top 100 Industrial Counties (cities). In November 2018, it was identified as the first batch of innovative counties (cities) by the Ministry of Science and Technology. In December 2018, it was selected as one of the top 100 counties with comprehensive economic competitiveness. On October 8, 2019, it was rated as one of the top 100 counties and cities of National Comprehensive strength in 2019. One of the top 100 counties and cities for quality of new urbanization in 2019. It was selected into the 2019 list of the top 100 counties and cities in West China. In December 2020, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences released the Top 100 Comprehensive Economic Competitiveness of Counties, ranking 26th. In 2020, the GDP of Junge Banner reached 75.19 billion yuan. In 2021, the GDP of Junge Banner reached 107.09 billion yuan.
In October 2021, it was selected into the "2021 Top 100 Counties and Cities of China Smart Cities" list.
