Junlian County, located in Yibin City, Sichuan Province, is located in the south edge of Sichuan Basin, the Junlian County in the north foot of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau intersecting part of Sichuan-Yunnan Province. It was an important post station on the South Silk Road in the old time, and it's an important portal to get out of Sichuan into Yunnan Province today. Bordered by Yanjin, Yiliang and Weixin in Yunnan Province and adjacent to Gaoxian and Gongxian counties, the county is located between 27°50 '37" -- 28°14' 28" north latitude and 104°17 '45" -- 104°47' 20" east longitude. The total area of the county is 1,256.35 square kilometers. By August 2019, Junlian County has jurisdiction over 7 towns and 5 townships. According to the seventh population census data, by the Junlian County's permanent population is 332,805 by the Junlian County at zero hour of November 1, 2020.

On June 30, 2020, Junlian County was Junlian County selected into the "Second batch of Differentiation County List of Revolutionary Cultural Relics Protection and Utilization Piece"; On July 29, it was selected into the list of towns (counties) reconfirmed by the National Health Service in 2019.
