Ju County, belonging to Rizhao City of Shandong Province, is located in the southeast of Shandong Province and to the west of Rizhao City, covering an area of 1,821 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 5 subdistricts, 14 towns and 1 township.

Ju County has a long history. As early as 5,000 years ago, the Ju tribe lived and multiplied there. Juguo was "the king of East Yi", the Shang, Zhou and Han three times into a state, "Spring and Autumn Juguo, Qi and Lu". The county was the site of the Ju capital during the Spring and Autumn Period, where the allusion of "Do not forget at Ju" took place. Ju County of Qin has a history of more than 2,000 years. The Ju culture, together with the Qi culture and the Lu culture, is regarded as one of the three major cultures in Shandong. The original pottery unearthed at the Lingyanghe Site is more than 1,500 years earlier than the oracle bone script, which is the ancestor of Chinese writing. There are many cultural relics and historic sites in Ju, and the tombs of Ju Zi and King Chengyang are key cultural relics protection units at the provincial level. Juzhou Museum is one of the three county-level museums in Shandong Province and one of the top ten Museums in Shandong Province. It has a collection of more than 12,000 cultural relics, including more than 200 national cultural relics. Liu Xie, the author of the first Chinese literary criticism monograph, Literary Heart Carving Dragons, was a native of Ju in Dongguan during the Southern and Northern Dynasties. There are 17 A-level scenic spots within the territory.

By the end of 2020, the total registered population of Juxian County was 1.1687 million. Juxian County achieved a GDP of 42.497 billion yuan in 2021, an increase of 8.4% year on year (the same below), ranking the second place in the two districts and two counties. The growth rate was 0.3, 0.1 and 1.6 percentage points higher than that of the national, provincial and municipal governments (8.1%, 8.3% and 6.8%, respectively).
