Located in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the western edge of the Tarim Basin, Kashgar City, which is subordinate to the Kashgar region of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is the most western border city in China and the political, economic and cultural center of Kashgar region.
