Liangcheng County, under the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of Ulanqab city. It is located in the south-central part of Inner Mongolia and the south of Ulanqabu City, with 112°02 '-113 °02' east longitude and 40°10 '-40 °50' north latitude. It is adjacent to Fengzhen City in the east, Zuoyun County and Youyu County of Shanxi Province in the south, Zhuozi County in the north, and Hohhot City and Helin County in the west. It covers an area of 3,458.3 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 2 townships until November 2022. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Liangcheng County was 119,061 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.
Rich in tourism resources, it is one of the seven counties in the autonomous region. Daihai Lake is the third largest inland lake in the region and one of the famous aquatic bases. It has been selected as one of the 365 lakes with good water quality under national planning and protection. Daihai Tourism Area has been identified as one of the 15 priority development brand tourist attractions in the region and selected into the list of National Excellent Tourism Projects in 2015. Manhanshan Erlongshitai National Forest Park is an ideal place for forest recuperation, scientific investigation, summer vacation and mountaineering adventure. Profound cultural deposits, within the territory of the "tiger Mountain culture" and "garden ditch culture" historical cultural sites; Suimeng Revolutionary Memorial Park has been listed in the second phase of the National Red Tourism Classic Scenic spot list and 20 key red tourism scenic spots in the region.
On April 18, 2019, the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region decided to withdraw Liangcheng County from the poverty-stricken flag county list. In 2021, the gross domestic product of Liangcheng County reached 4.92 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 4.8%.
