Linshu County, affiliated to Linyi City of Shandong Province, is located in the southeast of Linyi City, bordering Junan County to the north, Hedong District and Economic Development Zone of Linyi City to the west, Tancheng County to the southwest, and Ganyu County and Donghai County of Jiangsu Province to the southeast, with an area of 1010.19 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Linshu County had jurisdiction over two subdistricts and seven towns. By the end of 2021, Linshu County had a registered population of 685,400.
Linshu County gets its name because it is bordered by the Shu River. Linshu County is the hometown of diamonds and the capital of Liushu in China. More than 7,000 years ago, human beings lived and multiplied here. Linshu County began in the early Han Dynasty. In July of the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it was renamed Cangma Office. In August of the 30th year of the Republic of China (1941), it was renamed Linshu County. In March 1956, Linshu County was abolished. In August 1961, Linshu County was restored. Linshu County is a revolutionary old base area. Linshu County has been awarded the honorary titles of National Advanced County for Scientific and Technological Progress, National Health County, National Ecological Demonstration Area, National Garden County, National Base for transformation and upgrading of Foreign trade, National County for Balanced development of compulsory education, and National Advanced County for Grassroots TCM work.
In 2021, Linshu County's GDP reached 23.238 billion yuan, with per capita disposable income of 33,097 yuan.
