Longde County is under Guyuan City of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is located at the west foot of Liupan Mountain and the border of southern Ningxia, between 35°21' -- 35°47' north latitude and 105°48' -- 106°15' east longitude. Located in Yinchuan, Xi 'an, Lanzhou three provincial capitals (capital) cities, 312 National Highway longitudinal east and west, Qinglan high-speed through the border. East Guan Shan, west overlooking Hetao, south Qinzhou, north TongNingshuo; Jin Liang, Wei west auxiliary, have "Guanlong lock key" said. It is 47 kilometers long from north to south, 41 kilometers wide from east to west, and covers an area of 991 square kilometers. As of November 2020, Longde County has jurisdiction over 3 towns and 10 townships. According to the seventh census data, the permanent population of Longde County is 109,451. The county government is based in Chengguan Town.

By February 2022, Longde's folk culture, including calligraphy, painting, paper-cutting, clay sculpture and seal cutting, has been included in more than 100 items of the national intangible Cultural Heritage Census, involving more than 50 Longde items, among which Yang's clay sculpture and Gao Tai Ma Shehuo have been included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative List. Eleven projects, including folk paintings and paper-cutting, have been added to the autonomous region-level intangible cultural heritage protection list. It has won the honor of "Hometown of Chinese Modern Folk Painting", "Advanced County of Chinese Culture" and "Hometown of Chinese Calligraphy".

In 2021, the GDP of Longde County reached 3722.1 million yuan, with the per capita disposable income of urban residents reaching 28,283.5 yuan and rural residents reaching 12,589.3 yuan.
