Longsheng Autonomous County belongs to Guilin City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is located in the northeast of the autonomous Region and the border area of Hunan and Guangxi at the southwest foot of Yuechengling Mountains. The distance between Longsheng Town and Nanning City, the capital of the autonomous region, is 371 kilometers, and the highway mileage is 531 kilometers. The linear distance with Guilin is 63 kilometers, highway mileage is 87 kilometers. National Highway 321 from Guangzhou to Chengdu passes through the territory of Longsheng, which is the throat and material distribution center from southwest Hunan, southeast Guizhou and Sichuan to Guangxi. The total area is 2538 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Longsheng Ethnic Autonomous County was 139,483.
Longsheng is rich in tourism resources, including the national first-class scenic spot Longji Terrace landscape which is "the best in the world", the hot spring which can be called "the first spring in South China" which is located in the national forest park and the provincial tourist resort, and the Huoping Primitive Forest Reserve which is the closest to the central tourist city and listed as the national nature Reserve.
On April 24, 2019, the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved the decision to lift Longsheng Autonomous County out of poverty. On October 9, 2020, it was named as the fourth batch of practice and innovation base of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. In 2020, the GDP of Longsheng Autonomous County reached 6.04 billion yuan.
