Longzhou County, under the jurisdiction of Chongzuo City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, is located in the southwest of Guangxi, 200 kilometers away from Nanning City, east of Jiangzhou District Chongzuo City, south Ningming County, Pingxiang City, northeast and Daxin County connected, northwest and Vietnam border, the total area of 2311.19 square kilometers, has jurisdiction over 5 towns and 7 townships. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Longzhou County was 232,068 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.
Longzhou is an important border control town, a border trade historical and cultural city with a history of many years, with Shuikou Pass in the west and Pinghe Pass in the southwest. In the fifteenth year of Guangxu (1889), Longzhou was opened as an overland treaty port, which was the first treaty port opened to the outside world in Guangxi.

Longzhou is one of the revolutionary bases of Zuojiang under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. On February 1, 1930, under the leadership of Li Mingrui, Yu Zuoyu and other comrades, the Longzhou Uprising broke out and the Eighth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army was established. The important revolutionary relics are the former headquarters of the Red Eighth Army.
There are sites of interest such as Xiao Lian Cheng and Mian Jianghua cliff murals.

On August 8, 2018, the People's Government of Guangxi Autonomous Region approved Longzhou County's withdrawal from the poverty-stricken county.
In March 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of counties under protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics.
In 2020, the GDP of Longzhou County was 8.989 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 3.1%, among which, the value added of the primary industry was 2.799 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 5.1%, the value added of the secondary industry was 1.79 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 2.8%, and the value added of the tertiary industry was 4.399 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 2.0%.
