Malong District (Malong County), belonging to Qujing City, Yunnan Province, borders Qilin District and Zhanyi District in the east and northeast, Luliang County and Yiliang County in the south, and Songming County and Xundian County in the west and northwest. Malong District is located on the north side of the ancient uplift of Niutou Mountain and the south of the Wumeng Mountains. It belongs to the hilly area of northeast Yunnan on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is located in the watershed zone between the Jinsha River water system and the Nanpan River water system, surrounded by mountains on all sides. The climate belongs to the low-latitude plateau monsoon climate. It is dry in winter and spring, wet in summer and autumn, with distinct dry and wet seasons.
