Mingguang City, abbreviated as Ming, also known as Jiashan, is a county-level city administered by Chuzhou City, Anhui Province. It is a county-level city member of Nanjing Metropolitan area, located in the northeast edge of Anhui Province, on the north side of the Jianghuai Watershed. Mingguang City covers an area of 2335 square kilometers, and by 2020, it has jurisdiction over 4 subdistricts, 12 towns and 1 township. Huaihe River in the north, bordering Wuhe County; East and Jiangsu Province Xuyi, Sihong county adjacent; West Dingyuan, Fengyang County, Mingguang government resident Longshan Road 109.
On May 31, 1994, Mingguang was approved by The State Council to withdraw from the county and set up as a city. It is managed by Chuzhou City, a cooperative city of Nanjing metropolitan area, and a member city of Wanjiang City Belt to undertake industrial transfer demonstration zone. It is the national Advanced city of science and technology, the national Advanced city of culture, the national top 100 cities of aquatic products, the national comprehensive demonstration city of e-commerce into rural areas, the national model city of Double support, the national advanced county of crab industry, the provincial civilized county (city), the provincial garden city, the provincial forest city, and the national civilized city. In June 2017, it won the title of "Hometown of Chinese Poetry". In September, Mingguang City in Anhui province was included in the "2017 Most Beautiful China" destination City list. On January 22, 2020, it was named as a national garden city by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
In 2021, Mingguang achieved a gross regional product of 27.34 billion yuan.
