Miyi County, under the jurisdiction of Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southwest corner of Sichuan Province, northeast of Panzhihua City, in the confluence area of Anning River and Yalong River, between 26°42 '~ 27°10' north latitude and 101°44 '~ 102°15' east longitude, covering an area of 2,153 square kilometers. The climate of Miyi County belongs to the hot and dry valley stereoscopic climate based on the South subtropical zone. Dry and rainy seasons are distinct, but the four seasons are not distinct. The valley area has no winter all year round. Autumn and spring are connected, and summer lasts for more than 5 months. As of 2019, Miyi County has jurisdiction over seven towns and four townships, with the county government based in Panlian Town. There are 26 ethnic groups including Han, Yi and Lisu.
