Moyu County is located in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, facing Hotan County and Luopu County with the Karakash River as the boundary in the east, bordering on the Gobi and Pishan County in the west, reaching the northern foot of the Karakoram Mountains in the south, and bordering on Awati County in the Taklimakan Desert in the north, with an administrative area of 25608 square kilometers.
