Rongcheng County, subordinate to Baoding City, Hebei Province, is entrusted by Xiong'an New District, Hebei Province. It is higher in the northwest and lower in the southeast. Rongcheng was established as a county in the Qin Dynasty and belongs to Shanggu County. It was originally named "Sangqiu" or "IKEA". In the third year of the Zhongyuan era (147 BC) of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty, Rongcheng was established as the Marquis of Rongcheng, which was recognized as a "millennium ancient county" by the provincial government. Rongcheng has a long history and profound cultural heritage. There are "Cishan Culture" and "Longshan Culture" sites in the Upslope Neolithic Period in the territory. It can be inferred that 7000 years ago, there were human beings living here, forming a relatively stable ancient village. There are many sites in Rongcheng. Liu Yin, a famous scholar in the early Yuan Dynasty, Yang Jisheng, a loyal martyr in the Ming Dynasty, and Sun Qifeng, a great scholar in the early Qing Dynasty, are known as the "three sages of Rongcheng". It is also the hometown of Hu Delin and Hu Fucai among the five heroes of Langya Mountain. On April 1, 2017, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued a notice, deciding to establish Hebei Xiong'an New Area.

In 2019, the GDP of Rongcheng County will reach 5.108 billion yuan. In December 2020, it was selected into the list of digital rural pilot areas in Hebei Province.
