Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, under the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Liuzhou City, located in the north of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau Miao Ling mountain eastward extension. Rongshui borders Rong 'an County in the east, Liucheng County in the south, Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County in the west and Luochengmulam ethnic Autonomous County in the southwest, and Congjiang County in Guizhou Province in the north. The county terrain is high in the central part and low around the periphery. The central and western parts of the county are Zhongshan areas, the southeast and northeast parts are low mountain areas, and the southern part is hilly karst areas. It has an area of 4665 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Rongshui Miao Autonomous County was 412,445.

The main tourist attractions are Beijiang, Yuanbao Mountain, Zhenxian Rock, Laozi Mountain, Longnougou and Yubu Village Dongxing scenic spots. Local specialties include glutinous rice pomelo, "Sanfang fragrant duck", Yuanbaoshan tea, Double Ninth bamboo shoots, Double Ninth wine, mushroom, fungus and so on.
In 2020, the GDP of Rongshui Miao Autonomous County was 13.151 billion yuan, up by 2.1%; Investment in fixed assets grew by 34.1%; Fiscal revenue was 889 million yuan, up 8.35%; Total retail sales of consumer goods reached 4.444 billion yuan, up by 4.2%.

Rongshui Miao Autonomous County is the key county of national poverty alleviation and development and the Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi rocky desertification area. On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce. On December 29, 2018, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission named the sixth batch of national Ethnic unity and progress demonstration zone (unit). 020 China's top 100 counties and cities for clean water. On July 29, 2020, it was selected into the national Health township (county) naming list for the 2017-2019 cycle. On November 20, 2020, the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved its withdrawal from the poverty-stricken county list.
