Shangcai County is subordinate to Zhumadian City, Henan Province. It is located in the southeast of Henan Province and the northeast of Zhumadian City. It borders Xiangcheng City of Zhoukou City in the east, Runan County and Pingyu County in the south, Xiping County and Suiping County in the west, Yancheng District of Luohe City and Shangshui County of Zhoukou City in the north, with a total area of 1514.22 square kilometers. In 2019, Shangcai County has a total population of 1,545,400. There are 36 nationalities. In ancient times, the west was the best. Shangcai was located in the west of Gulu (now Xincai County, Henan Province) and Zhoulai (now Fengtai, Anhui Province), so it was called Shangcai. In the reign of King Han Li, he set up Shangcai County. In 2000, Zhumadian was removed from its territory and established as a city, and Shangcai County was subordinate to Zhumadian City.
