Toksun County

Toksun County, under the jurisdiction of Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the eastern part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain, and the western part of the Turpan Basin. Its geographical coordinates are: 87 ° 14 ′ 05 ″~89 ° 11 ′ 08 ″ E, 41 ° 21 ′ 14 ″~43 ° 18 ′ 11 ″ N. The total area is 16600 square kilometers. Toksun County has a typical continental warm temperate desert climate and is rich in light and heat resources. As of October 2021, Tokson County has 7 towns and 1 township under its jurisdiction. In the third year of the Yuanfeng reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (108 BC), the county is located at the western end of the former Cheshi kingdom. In January 1975, it was transferred to Turpan. Toksun County is the intersection of South Xinjiang, North Xinjiang and East Xinjiang. G30, G3012, S301, S103, Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway, South Xinjiang Railway and the first and second lines of the West-East Gas Pipeline run through the whole territory. On July 29, 2020, it was included in the naming list of national health towns (counties) from 2017 to 2019. The main scenic spots in Tokson County include Panjier strange stone forest, Kerian rock paintings, Kerian tourist area, Wanfo Palace, etc.
