Wenshang is located in the southwest of Shandong Province, east of the ancient city of Yanzhou, west of the water to Liangshan, south according to Weishan Lake, north pillow Dongyue Taishan. East longitude 116°40 '-- 116°18', north latitude 35°31 '-- 35°36', most areas in the plain, Wenshang County is a north temperate continental monsoon humid climate zone. The total area is 889 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Wenshang county was 687,544.

There are Dabwen River in Wenshang County, Xiaowen River flows through the north and west, and Quanhe River flows through the middle and east and then congregate to Xiaowen River. The groundwater under Wenshang County is also supplied by Wenshui Water. The whole county of Wenshang is located on Wenshui Water, so Wenshang is named Wenshang.

In 2020, the GDP of Wenchuan County reached 22.555 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9%; the investment in fixed assets increased by 2.3%; the general public budget revenue reached 1.553 billion yuan, an increase of 3.5%; and the tax revenue accounted for 88.9%.

On December 13, 2018, Wenchuan County was selected into the list of advantageous agricultural products with Chinese characteristics. On February 2, 2019, it was named as the advanced unit of grassroots TCM work at the county level by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. On July 29, 2020, it was selected into the national Health township (county) naming list for the 2017-2019 cycle.
