Wuyi County, under the jurisdiction of Hengshui City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Hebei Province and the northeast of Hengshui City. It is adjacent to Fucheng County, Jingxian County, Taocheng District and Shenzhou City in the east, Zaoqiang County in the south, Wuqiang County in the north. It is located within the radiation range of Beijing Tianjin metropolitan economic circle and port economic radius. It is adjacent to Botou City in the northeast, with a maximum east-west width of 27 kilometers, a maximum north-south length of 42.5 kilometers, and a total area of 832 square kilometers. It governs 7 towns, 2 townships and 1 district. According to the data of the seventh census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Wuyi County is 265962.
Wuyi County was identified by the State Council as a national key poverty alleviation county in 1994, listed as a key poverty alleviation and development county by the State Council in 2001, and named as the "Home of Vegetables in Hebei" in 2002. In December 2020, it was selected into the list of digital rural pilot areas in Hebei Province.
In 2018, the GDP of Wuyi County reached 8.2 billion yuan, 1.83 times that of 2010, with an average annual growth of 7.8%.
On September 29, 2018, the People's Government of Hebei Province issued a notice officially approving Wuyi County to withdraw from the poverty stricken county sequence.
