Xuanhan County is subordinate to Dazhou City of Sichuan Province. It is located at the southern foot of Daba Mountain in the northeast of Sichuan Basin and at the junction of Chongqing, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Hubei. It is a satellite city of Dazhou, between 107°22 '~108°32' east longitude and 31°06 '~31°49' north latitude. Xiang-chongqing Railway, Chongqing-Shaanxi Expressway, Dawan Expressway and 210 National Highway pass through it. By the end of 2021, the permanent population of Xuanhan County was 951,000, and the regional GDP of Xuanhan County in 2021 was 5,073.97 million yuan, an increase of 8.8% over the previous year, calculated at comparable prices.

Xuanhan County covers an area of 4271 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 2 subdistricts, 28 towns, 3 townships and 4 ethnic townships. [49] Xuanhan County is rich in culture. Ba charm has a long history. Luojiaba Site is the birthplace of Ba culture. The Tujia people with unique folk customs and customs, Haocao Luogu, was included in the first batch of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List and is the only Tujia inhabited area in Sichuan Province. In February 2020, the Sichuan provincial People's Government agreed to remove Xuanhan county from poverty. In June 2020, Xuanhan was successfully established as "the first all-regional Tourism Demonstration Zone in Sichuan Province". September 22, 2020, won the 2019 Sichuan Province grain production "Harvest Cup".
