Yingjisha County

Yingjisha, a Uighur language, means "new town". The Qing Dynasty's "Western Regions Atlas" is called Yinggasar. It has been an important town between Yerqiang and Kashgar since ancient times. The Qing Dynasty set up a military station here. In the 24th year of Qianlong's reign (1759), after the overthrow of the Great, Small and Zhuomu Rebellion, it was named Yingjishar.

Yingjisha County, under the jurisdiction of Kashgar, Xinjiang, is located in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the northern foot of the Kunlun Mountains, and the western edge of the Tarim Basin; It borders Shache County in the east, Aktau County in the southwest and northwest, and Shule and Yuepu Lake in the northeast; The administrative area is 3425 square kilometers. It is the post station of the ancient land Silk Road and one of the eight major towns in southern Xinjiang.
