Yuxian County, affiliated to Yangquan City, Shanxi Province, is located in the east of Shanxi Province, the west foot of Taihang Mountain, east of Pingshan County, Hebei Province, Jingxing County and Pingding County, Shanxi Province, west of Yangqu County, south of Shouyang County and Yangquan suburb, north of Wutai County and Dingxiang County. The county covers an area of 2514.4 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 8 towns and 5 townships. As of November 2020, Yuxian's permanent population was 281,000.

Yuxian has Tibetan mountain, Longtang waterfall, Temple peace hot spring, thousand Buddha Temple and other famous scenic spots. The territory of the mountains, Baima Mountain east-west, tube head beam north-south longitudinal, Yuxian divided into two basins.

Shitai high-speed railway through the border, with Yangquan North Station. In 2020, the GDP of Yuxian county reached 13.119 billion yuan, an increase of 2.6 percent over 2019 based on comparable prices.
