Zhenping County, under the jurisdiction of Nanyang City, Henan Province, is located in the southwest of Henan Province, in the northwest of Nanyang Basin, at the south foot of Funiu Mountain. It borders Wolong District of Nanyang City in the east, Dengzhou City in the south, Neixiang County in the west and Nanzhao County in the north, with a total area of 1494 square kilometers. As of 2019, Zhenping County has a total population of 1049400. There are 32 ethnic groups, including 31 ethnic minorities, with 68700 people, accounting for 6.3% of the total population. As of October 2021, Zhenping County has jurisdiction over 3 streets, 15 towns and 4 townships.

To pacify is to deter and pacify rebellion. In the third year of Jin Zhengda's reign (1226), it was set in Zhenping County and subordinate to Shenzhou. In 1994, it was located in Nanyang City. It is a national export food quality and safety demonstration county, a rooftop distributed photovoltaic development pilot county, a national compulsory education development basically balanced county, and the hometown of Yulan in China. Zhenping jade carving is a national intangible cultural heritage.

In 2019, the GDP of Zhenping County was 25.693 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 3.56 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 8.11 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 14.02 billion yuan. The three industrial structure changes were 13.8:31.6:54.6, and the per capita GDP was 29615 yuan.
