Guigang, located in the southeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, in the middle of Xijiang River Basin and in the middle of Xunyu Plain, is an important node city of the Zhujiang River Economic Belt, an important gateway of the Great Southwest Sea Passage, and the end point of the China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline. ] Guigang Port is the largest inland river port in western China and the national smart city pilot city. The Xijiang River Waterway flows through the city. It is near Wuzhou in the east, Yulin and Qinzhou in the south, Nanning in the west and Laibin in the north. According to the seventh census data, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Guigang City was 4,316,262.

Approved by The State Council in October 1995, it was upgraded to a prefectural city, with jurisdiction over Gangbei District, Gangnan District, Qintang District, Pingnan County and Guiping City at the county level, covering an area of 10,602 square kilometers. Special products include jackfruit, Guigang lotus root, longan, dried longan, Tantang Maojian tea, monk fruit and so on.

Guigang City, nicknamed Holland City because of the lotus plant in the city, is an ancient county new town with more than two thousand years of history, but also a vibrant new inland port city. Guigang is a national first-class open port to the outside world, the top ten inland river ports in China, the largest inland river port in western China, the national professional Demonstration area for undertaking industries [5], the national model City of double support, the national Advanced City of mass culture and sports, the Garden City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Advanced City of Patriotic Health of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Civilized city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In October 2018, it was awarded the title of "National Forest City". In October 2020, it was rated as the national model city (county) of double support. In 2021, Guigang achieved a GDP of 150.164 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 6.5% and a two-year average growth of 6.7% at constant prices, and a fiscal revenue of 15.303 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 6.4%.
