Huaibei, also known as Xiangcheng, is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province. It is an important resource city in the country and a demonstration city for green transformation and development. It is located between 116°24 '-- 117°03' east longitude and 33°16 '-- 34°10' north latitude, in the northeast of Anhui Province, adjacent to Xiao County in Suzhou City in the north, Mengcheng County and Guoyang County in Bozhou City in the south and Yongqiao District in Suzhou City in the east. West to Yongcheng City, Shangqiu, Henan Province. It is 150 kilometers long from north to south and 50 kilometers wide from east to west. The total area is 2741 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 3 districts and 1 county. By the end of 2021, the permanent resident population of Huaibei was 1.974 million, with an urbanization rate of 64.78%.

In 2021, the regional GDP of Huaibei reached 122.30 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 3.4%.
