Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region

Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, or "Ning" for short, is a provincial-level administrative region of the People's Republic of China, with its capital city of Yinchuan, one of China's five ethnic minority autonomous regions. It is located in the northwest of China, adjacent to Shaanxi in the east, Inner Mongolia in the west and north, Gansu in the south, between 35°14 '-39°23' north, 104°17 ' '-107°39' east longitude, with a total area of 66,400 square kilometers, located in the northwest of the four major geographical divisions. It has jurisdiction over 5 prefecture-level cities and 22 counties (cities and districts). By the end of 2021, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region had a permanent resident population of 7.250 million.

Ningxia is one of the birthplaces of the ancient Chinese civilization. As early as 30,000 years ago in the Paleolithic Age, there were human beings living and breeding here. In 1038, the leader of Dangxiang nationality Li Yuanhao founded the Western Xia Dynasty and formed the culture of the Western Xia. The site of Shuidonggou in Ningxia is a Paleolithic site dating back 30,000 years. Ningxia is also home to the Great Wall Museum of China, with ancient Great Wall sites ranging from the Warring States Great Wall to the Ming Great Wall. Ningxia is also a red land, the meeting place of the Red Army's Long March, and the site of the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Revolution. It has both beautiful scenery and profound historical and cultural deposits, and is known as the "top of the Yangtze River" in ancient times.

The terrain of Ningxia gradually slopes from southwest to northeast, with hills and ravines. The terrain is divided into three plates: the Yellow River irrigation area in the north, the arid belt in the middle and the mountainous area in the south. Ningxia is located in the Yellow River system, the terrain is high in the south and low in the north, and the region is a temperate continental arid and semi-arid climate.

In 2021, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's GDP reached 452.231 billion yuan. Of which, the added value of the primary industry was 36.448 billion yuan; The added value of the secondary industry was 202.155 billion yuan; The added value of the tertiary industry was 213.628 billion yuan. The per capita GDP was 62,549 yuan based on the permanent population.
