Beijing Qingtongxia Highway, Ulanhot Hai'an Highway, Beijing Lhasa Expressway, Zhangjiakou Shijiazhuang Expressway, Beijing Baotou Railway, Zhangjiakou Jinan Railway, Zhangjiakou Tangshan Railway, Lanzhou Zhangjiakou Railway, and Beijing Zhangjiakou High speed Railway pass through Wanquan District. On May 5, 2019, the Hebei Provincial Government approved Wanquan District to withdraw from the poverty county sequence.
