Yixing City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, is managed by Wuxi City. It is located at the southwest end of Jiangsu Province and the center of the Hunan-Hangzhou Triangle. The water surface of Taihu Lake in the east is connected with the water surface of Taihu Lake in Suzhou. It is adjacent to Changxing County in Zhejiang Province in the southeast, Guangde City in Anhui Province in the southwest, Liyang City in the west, Jintan District in Changzhou in the northwest, and Wujin District in Changzhou in the north. Yixing is a famous historical and cultural city in China. It was called Jingyi in ancient times, and belonged to Wu in the Spring and Autumn Period; In the first year of Taiping and Xingguo (976) in the Song Dynasty, Yixing County was changed into Yixing County, belonging to Changzhou; In 1983, Yixing County was subordinate to Wuxi City; On January 9, 1988, the State Council officially approved the cancellation of Yixing County and the establishment of Yixing City at the county level. In October 2021, Yixing was selected as one of the "Top 100 Smart Cities in China in 2021". On November 18, 2022, China Light Industry Federation and China Ceramic Industry Association awarded Yixing the title of "China Ceramic Industry Inheritance and Innovation Base".
