Feidong County, affiliated to Hefei City, Anhui Province, is located in the central part of Anhui Province, with Chaohu City at the county level in the east, Nanjing District and Quanjiao County of Chuzhou City, Chaohu Lake in the south, Yaohai District, Baohe District and Changfeng County in the west, and Dingyuan County in the north. Between 31°34 '-- 32°16' north latitude, 117°19 '-- 117°52' east longitude, the total area of 2181.6 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 12 towns and 6 townships.

Feidong has the reputation of "the key point of Wu and Chu, the hometown of Lord Bao", the territory of Chaohu Lake, one of China's five major freshwater lakes, one of the eight scenic spots of ancient Luyang, "four top Chaoxia", and the Fucha Mountain, known as "North Nine Hua". The former site of the General Front Committee of the River Crossing Campaign and the anti-Japanese Memorial Hall of the Fourth Branch of the New Fourth Army in Hefei Qinglong Factory are the "red name cards" of Feidong. Changlinhe Town, the only hometown of overseas Chinese in Anhui, has brought out more than 800 professors, experts and generals, as well as 4500 overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Up to now, it still retains an ancient street with more than 200 years of history.

In 2021, Feidong County achieved a regional GDP of 81.141 billion yuan, in which the added value of the primary industry was 8.221 billion yuan, the secondary industry 27.237 billion yuan and the tertiary industry 45.683 billion yuan, and the tertiary industry structure was 10.1:33.6:56.3. Based on the permanent population, the per capita GDP is 90,863 yuan.
