Changting County, formerly known as "Tingzhou", is under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province. It is the location of Tingzhou City in the Central Soviet Region and the place where the red flag leaps over the Tingjiang River. It is located in the west of Fujian Province, at the southern foot of the Wuyi Mountains, adjacent to Guangdong in the south and Jiangxi in the west, with a land area of 3104.16 square kilometers; Since ancient times, it has been the frontier of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces, and is known as the "West Gate of Fujian Province".
Changting, known as Tingzhou in the calendar, was established as a county in the Han Dynasty.
