Yongxiu County, subordinate to Jiujiang City of Jiangxi Province, is located in the north of Jiangxi Province, south of Jiujiang City, adjacent to Nanchang City in the south, bordered by Poyang Lake in the east, Yunju Mountain in the west, Lushan City, Gongqing City, De 'an County, and Wuning County in the north, connected to Duchang County, Jing 'an County of Yichun City in the west, and 9 counties (cities and districts) (Anyi County, Xinjian District) of Nanchang City in the south. The county covers an area of 1,947 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 15 townships. By the end of 2020, the permanent population of Yongxiu County was 316,300.

Yongxiu County is an important group of Ganjiang New District, 38 kilometers away from Nanchang, 80 kilometers away from Jiujiang. There are Fu-Yin Expressway, Yongwu Expressway, Chang-Jiu Avenue, Beijing-Jiu Railway, Chang-Jiu intercity Railway, 105 National Highway and 316 National Highway.
