Dexing, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shangrao City in Jiangxi Province, is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, in the north of Shangrao City, at the junction of Jiangxi, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. It is named after the meaning of "the treasure of mountains and rivers, but virtue is prosperity". It covers an area of 2,101 square kilometers. By the end of 2020, Dexing had jurisdiction over 4 subdistricts, 6 towns, 6 townships and Damaoshan Provincial Economic Development Zone. In December 1990, Dexing was set up as a city. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Dexing was 293,596.
