Linxiang, a county-level city of Hunan Province, is administered by Yueyang City. It is located at the northeast end of Hunan Province and connects with Hubei Province in the north. It is named for the place where Xiangshui meets the Yangtze River, and is known as "the Gateway of Xiangbei". According to the seventh census data, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Linxiang was 433,200. In 2021, the GDP of Linxiang was 30.988 billion yuan, an increase of 7.8% over the previous year.

Song Chunhua five years (AD 994) built dynasty county, 996 renamed Linxiang County. The territory of the highest yam mushroom mountain 1261.1 meters above sea level, the lowest point Jiangnan Guhua Chau 23 meters. The Yangtze River flows through the northwestern edge of the city, with a total length of 32.7 kilometers. Taolin River, Tandu River, Yuan Tan River winding north note Yangtze River. Linxiang Hum Qin Opera and 13 villages are listed as the first batch of intangible cultural heritage of Hunan Province.

Linxiang is the famous "hometown of fish and rice", "Hometown of bamboo and wood", "hometown of tea", "hometown of non-ferrous metals" and "hometown of Chinese buoys". It has successively won the titles of National Advanced Culture (county) City, National Science Popularization Demonstration (county) city, National Advanced Education (county) city, National Advanced Law Popularization (county) City, National Town of Track and Field, provincial civilized City, Provincial Advanced Culture Construction (county) city, etc.

On March 6, 2019, it was listed in the list of counties under the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (the first batch). On February 2, 2019, it was named as the advanced unit of grassroots TCM work at the county level by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. [3] On January 29, 2021, it was selected into the list of regions with remarkable achievements in 2020 published by Hunan Provincial People's Government.
