Pubei County is under the jurisdiction of Qinzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, located in the south of Guangxi, the northeast of Qinzhou City, borded by Bobai County of Yulin City in the east, Hepu County of Beihai City in the south, and Hengzhou City, Guigang City and Xingye County of Yulin City in the north. The county seat is about 210 kilometers away from the capital of Nanning and 120 kilometers away from the coastal open city of Beihai City. Pubei County covers an area of 2,521 square kilometers. By the end of 2014, Pubei County had jurisdiction over 2 subdistricts and 14 towns. According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Pubei County was 683,964 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.

In 2019, Pubei County's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 20.512 billion yuan, up 8.6% year on year.
Pubei County landform is mainly hilly, county terrain high in the middle, south, north low; Located in low latitudes, light and heat is sufficient, belongs to the South Asian tropical monsoon climate, rich in "banana", is China's largest banana planting area, the highest output of the county, known as the "hometown of bananas in China".

Pubei County is close to the south end of the Great Southwest Sea Passage and located in the bridgehead of the China-Asean Free Trade Zone. Pubei County has successively won the honorary titles of National Advanced County of Comprehensive rural Education Reform, National Advanced Culture County, National Sports Standard Advanced County, National Science Popularization Demonstration County, etc. In December 2016, it was listed in the third batch of national comprehensive pilot areas for new urbanization. In October 2017, it was named the National Garden County by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
